Coast Guard Rescues Three Stranded Mariners During Severe Weather in Virginia

The US Coast Guard (USCG) released dramatic footage of the moment three mariners were rescued from a vessel in Chincoteague Inlet, Virginia, as the remnants of Hurricane Ida affected the region on September 1.

This clip, posted by the USCG on Facebook, shows a sailboat on its side in choppy waters. The footage shows USCG personnel airlifting people to safety, as crews were unable to navigate within 100 meters of the boat in the extreme weather conditions.

The mariners were transported to Wallops Island with no serious injuries, the USCG said.
