Coast Guard Airlifts Person to Hospital Off the Coast of Cape Cod

The US Coast Guard rescued an ill man on a fishing vessel near the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on June 15, officials said.

Responding to a call from Alexis Martina, a fishing vessel, officers with Air Station Cape Cod airlifted the patient to Cape Cod Hospital.

Video released by the First Coast Guard District shows the rescue. In less than a minute, a basket was lowered to the Alexis Martina, the patient loaded in, and the basket raised up to the helicopter. The aircraft then traveled to the hospital.
