  • The Country Music Association's annual CMA Fest was officially called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Fans who purchased tickets for this year’s festival can use them for the 2021 CMA Fest or request a full refund.

The Country Music Association announced on Tuesday that this year's CMA Fest has been cancelled. The four-day annual event, which brings together country's biggest stars for concerts, meet-and-greet sessions, and countless other festivities, was set for June 4-7 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The CMA confirmed the news in a statement released Tuesday, saying, “After careful deliberation, and in following the latest guidance from national, state and local authorities, we are sad to announce that CMA Fest will not take place in 2020. As the world is still greatly affected by the spread of COVID-19, we cannot in good conscience risk the health and wellbeing of our fans, artists, staff and Country Music community.”

Fans who purchased four-day passes for this year's festival have the option to receive a full refund, or use their tickets for the 2021 CMA Fest, which will take place June 10-13 in Nashville next year.

The CMA Fest, which began in 1972 as the much-smaller "Fan Fair" event, would have celebrated its 49th year if the 2020 event had continued as scheduled. The legendary festival now hosts tens of thousands of fans every year, with 80,000 people previously expected to attend this year's event.

Last year's lineup included Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Pistol Annies, Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett, and more.
