Climate Protesters Arrested at Congressional Baseball Game in DC

Three demonstrators were arrested during a climate protest at the annual Congressional Baseball Game in Washington on the evening of Thursday, July 28, according to local reports.

Footage by Brendan Gutenschwager shows protesters outside Nationals Park. Later, a man is seen being tackled to the ground by officers.

The protesters were arrested and charged with unlawful entry to Congressional Baseball Game, the Washington Post reported.

The protest comes just a day after the announcement of an agreement between Senator Joe Manchin and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on a spending package with a focus on clean energy and climate change.

US Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger said on Wednesday police were aware demonstrators were planning to “protest political issues” at the Congressional Baseball Game and urged them to stay home. Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
