Clearwater Beach Empty as Florida's Pinellas County Closes Public Beaches

Public Pinellas County beaches closed at 11:59 pm on Friday, March 20, as Florida officials increased measures to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

The City of Clearwater shared this footage on Facebook, which they said they filmed on Clearwater Beach on Saturday after the closure took effect. Beach lifeguards were working with Clearwater Police to enforce the closure, officials said.
