Clean Up Resumes After EF-2 Tornado Devastates Dexter, Missouri

Clean up efforts in Dexter, Missouri, were underway after an EF-2 tornado devastated the town on Saturday, July 10.

This drone footage by Wesley Roberts shows the severe damage faced by residents, with roofs stripped from houses, trees strewn across streets and power poles snapped in two.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported at least 150 homes had been damaged and hundreds of trees uprooted when the tornado lashed the area with wind speeds of up to 120 mph (193 kph).

Among the structures impacted by the tornado was a hospital, which “sustained major damage with several windows blown in, ceiling panels blow down, and one attached structure blown away from the hospital.”

“Several vehicles at the hospital had their windows blown out or were otherwise damaged from flying debris,” the NWS said. Credit: Wesley Roberts via Storyful
