Clashes as Thousands of Protesters March in Colombia

Thousands of people marched through central Bogota, and other cities in Colombia, on September 21, in protest against police violence and the government following the police-involved death of a man on September 9.

This footage, shared by RNC Radio journalist Daniel Arias, shows a damaged bank and police in riot gear firing projectiles toward protesters in Bogota’s Plaza de Bolivar.

Local reports said an estimated 5,600 people took part in 142 demonstrations around the country, with 11 rallies and three marches taking place in the capital.

The demonstrations came 10 months to the day after mass protests and a nationwide strike in the country. Credit: Daniel Arias/RCN Radio via Storyful
