Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber recreates her mom’s ’94 Elle cover: ‘Baby stole my look!’
Cindy Crawford is one proud mama.
On Friday, the 55-year-old supermodel shared a photo of her model daughter Kaia Gerber, 20, recreating one of her mom's famous photos for Elle. In the pic, Gerber sported a navy blue Ralph Lauren sweater with the American flag in the middle and her hands in her pockets of her blue jeans. Crawford also posted the original from when she posed for the cover of Elle in 1994.
"Baby stole my look! @elleusa now and then," she captioned the post.
Gerber, who is Elle's cover girl for their December 2021 and January 2022 issue shared other stunning photos from her shoot on her own Instagram page late last month.
Celebrity friends and fans were in awe of the resemblance.
"Omg I love this so much," Rachel Zoe wrote.
"She's gorgeous like you! Classy, naturally pretty - a true role model," one fan gushed.
"You must be so proud," one user wrote.
"Baby stole your face, too!" a commenter declared.
Crawford and Gerber are regularly twinning and sharing sweet mother-daughter moments on social media.
The pair have also been open about their close relationship over the years. During a sit down with Vogue in 2019, Gerber noted that modeling has definitely given them "something new to bond over. I didn't really know what questions to ask her until I found myself immersed in this world that she knows so much about."
Crawford agrees, sharing at Vogue's 2019 Forces of Fashion conference: "At an age where often your 18-year-old daughter doesn't necessarily want to listen to anything you have to say, this has been something that's brought us closer."
Gerber and Crawford clearly have a close bond. "My mom always made a point of creating a healthy disconnect," Gerber told Vogue. "She would leave her work in the studio — when she got home, the first thing she would do is go upstairs and take off her makeup. Take off the lashes. Just take everything off. At home, she was just my mom, and for that, I am forever grateful."
