With the arrival of billions of cicadas in the U.S.

a photographer has turned the bugs into portrait subjects

NAME: OXANA WARE, PHOTOGRAPHER AND CICADA ENTHUSIAST

"To me, they're really beautiful, and I probably sound like a crazy cicada, which I guess I am."

Ware collects the cicadas in her yard

She then coaxes them into all sorts of scenes

Ware says her project helps children become less afraid of the insects

"I would say 99 percent of people are just very excited. I've got a lot of thanks, a lot of kids that were very weary of these things are now not scared of them anymore.."

"I always see the best in people. I see the best in cicadas. I try to show people the best in any situation, and I like people to be less stressed in life and have more fun, so what can be a better thing to do then? Setting up a trip to CVS?"
