Church Bells Ring on Italy's National Day of COVID Remembrance

Church bells rang out and flags were lowered to half-staff in the Italian town of Castellana Grotte as the country held a national day of remembrance for the victims of COVID-19 on March 18.

The day marks one year since the Italian army had to organize a convoy of trucks to take coffins away from Bergamo, the city and province hit hardest by the first wave of the coronavirus.
