Christina Milian's 3 Kids: All About Violet, Isaiah and Kenna
Christian Milian and her partner, Matt Pokora, are raising their children in Paris
Christina Milian discovered a different side of herself when she became a mother, and she continues to have an adventurous spirit as she raises her three kids: Violet, Isaiah and Kenna.
The singer-songwriter welcomed her daughter Violet with fellow artist The-Dream (whose real name is Terius Nash) in February 2010, shortly after they eloped in Las Vegas the previous fall. Though they split a few months later, Milian said the experience taught her a great deal.
“I learned a lot about myself this year [2010],” she told Latina magazine (via Belfast Telegraph) when Violet was nearly 1 year old. “I learned what I can handle. I learned how much I can take. I learned who I am.”
Several years after, the entrepreneur met French musician Matt Pokora at a restaurant in 2017, and the two hit it off. While the pair have shared tidbits of their romance — including that they have the same birthday — Milian and Pokera openly talk about their kids. However, they try to maintain their privacy by concealing their faces online.
The singers announced the birth of their first child together, son Isaiah, in January 2020 and celebrated the arrival of their second son, Kenna, in April 2021.
Now, as a family of five, the actress enjoys watching her daughter and sons grow into individuals.
“Thanking God everyday I get to wake up to my beautiful babies,” she wrote on Instagram in 2022. “Each one with their own personalities and way of showing love.”
Here’s everything to know about Christina Milian’s kids: Violet, Isaiah and Kenna.
Violet Madison Nash, 14
Milan and The-Dream welcomed their first and only child together, Violet Madison Nash, on Feb. 26, 2010. She weighed 6 lbs., 10 oz. and had “a full head of hair," PEOPLE reported at the time.
Months later, the "Dip It Low" singer opened up about her parenthood experience to Latina magazine.
"Being a new mother definitely makes me feel so much sexier than ever before," she told the outlet (via Belfast Telegraph). "There’s a certain responsibility that I carry being a mom that makes me feel very confident and so blessed. Being a mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Milian documented Violet’s early days on her E! reality TV series, Christina Milian Turned Up, which followed the actress as she navigated her career and personal life alongside three generations of her family.
When the project premiered in 2010, Violet was shy of turning 5 years old, and Milian described her to PEOPLE as “crazy, funny [and] really sarcastic.”
As for how her daughter changed her life, the "AM to PM" songstress shared on the show, "The second that she was born, it was, like, instantly I became a child again. It’s like I see the world with new eyes.”
In more recent years, the mother-daughter duo have taken unexpected moments in stride, including homeschooling during the COVID-19 pandemic. "I'm actually having a great time working with her and going over her school stuff," Milian told PEOPLE in 2020.
Around the same time, the Bring It On: Fight to the Finish alum was also filming What Happens at Home with Christina Milian, a Facebook show that shared insight into how she was doing under lockdown. The limited series featured Violet, whose personality "really [shone]."
"She's just a light bulb — when she turns on, she turns on. She's so funny," the mom of three said. "I love that she can really express herself and have fun, and doesn't feel uncomfortable."
When Violet's not busy having fun with her younger brothers or attending school in Paris, she's by her mom's side, like at the Akris fall/winter 2024-2025 fashion show in March 2024. According to Milian, it was her daughter's first front-row event.
Meanwhile, Violet is as close to Pokora who has called her his "first child." Despite how much she's grown, though, he'll always give her a few reminders. "Time flies!!! Love you forever. (Means i’ll forever be a pain when it comes to clean your room, eat healthy, wake up early etc… 😬)," he wrote for her birthday on Instagram in 2022.
Isaiah, 4
Milian and Pokora welcomed their first child together, son Isaiah, on Jan. 20, 2020.
The Falling Inn Love star announced the news on Instagram with a black-and-white photo of the newborn holding her finger. “And so we begin. Simply perfect. The world is yours Son,” she captioned it.
A few months later, Milian spoke with PEOPLE about giving birth amid the COVID-19 pandemic, saying she was grateful to have time with her family.
"I'm super happy. I have a really happy baby," she said. "Honestly, with all this stuff going on, it kind of was a blessing in disguise to be able to spend so much time together and to not be forced to rush right back to work. It's been nice to just be home and be with my daughter and have this bonding experience."
Leading up to welcoming Isaiah, Milian revealed that Violet was looking forward to being a hands-on big sister.
"I’ve got a little mini-mom on the side that’s gonna help me out," she told PEOPLE Now in 2019 before sharing a similar sentiment about Pokora. "He’s super excited. We’ll figure it out. I definitely know I can count on him to be very helpful.”
Since then, the songwriter has shared glimpses of Isaiah's childhood. She posts about places he's visited and his major milestones, like his first day of school in 2023.
In honor of Isaiah's fourth birthday, Milian wrote a heartfelt message to her son on Instagram, alongside pictures and videos of them celebrating the special occasion surrounded by family in France, where they live.
“So happy to witness the smart little witty things you say, love your affection, how easy it is for you to say ‘I love you,' " she captioned the post. "I’m always reminded just how precious this time is. We love you. We will always be there for you.”
Kenna, 3
Milian and Pokora welcomed their second child together, son Kenna, on April 24, 2021.
Several months after the couple announced the arrival of Isaiah, they found out they were expecting again — a fact that Milian acknowledged in her third birth announcement.
"Kenna, Welcome to the world baby boy!" she wrote on Instagram, beside a photo of her holding him in the hospital. "Wow, What an adventure we've been on since the day he was conceived! ... Thankful. Blessed. Now it's party of 5 baby!"
The Resort to Love star added, "Thank you my @mattpokora for being the best partner/dad/ best friend a woman could ask for. You're a king in my eyes."
Fast forward, it seems like Kenna has managed to keep up with his older siblings, whose mom immediately recognized him as "energetic." In a clip posted on his second birthday, he's seen dancing, playing basketball and enjoying himself at fun outings next to his sister and brother.
"Kenna you may be the baby of the crew but everything about you is big!" Milian wrote on social media. "Your laughter, your joking ways, the love you share with me, Daddy and your siblings."
