Christina Hall Wishes Ex Tarek El Moussa a Happy 43rd Birthday with a Comment on His Wife Heather's Post

The trio will star in an upcoming HGTV series called ‘The Flip Off’ together in 2025

Christina Hall is wishing her ex a happy birthday!

The Christina on the Coast star, 41, left a celebratory comment for her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa on Instagram on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

“Happy Birthday @therealtarekelmoussa 🎉,” Hall wrote in the comments section of Tarek's current wife Heather El Moussa's tribute post. Tarek and Hall were married from 2009 to 2016 and share two children together — daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 9.

The Selling Sunset alum’s sweet tribute honored her husband on his 43rd birthday with a carousel of photos taken throughout their five-year relationship. It included scenes from their wedding in October 2021 and when they welcomed their now-one-year-old son Tristan in January 2023.

“Happy birthday to my love, my sweet husband. I am so thankful for your hard work and dedication every single day you wake up to fight for us,” Heather wrote in the caption of her post.

“You are my very best friend and the best daddy in the world, your loyalty to me is everything and I wish everyone could see the true man that I get to see every single day,” she continued. “I can’t wait for some big wins together in 2025! I love this life with you even when we get knocked down it’s me and you. ❤️🤍 forever ♾️ xxoo”

Heather also posted an inside look at the start of Tarek’s birthday celebrations on her Instagram Stories, including the silver balloons that read “Happy Birthday” set up in their home. The couple then boarded a sprinter van decked out with more decorations.

“10am mama drunk. Let’s go,” Heather captioned one slide of her smiling with a beverage in hand as Tarek looks down at his phone.

The couple — who are currently filming season two of their HGTV series The Flipping El Moussas — announced in May that they were teaming up with Hall for another project on the network called The Flip Off.

Expected to premiere in 2025, the new series will document Heather and Tarek as they compete against his ex in a house flipping showdown. The show was also supposed to star Christina's estranged husband Josh Hall before he filed for divorce from the designer in July.

HGTV has yet to confirm how the dynamic of the show will change following their split.

The new series is a big deal for longtime fans of Christina and Tarek as it marks their first time working together since Flip or Flop ended in March 2022 after nine years.

While they weren’t always on good terms after their split — especially following an infamous 2016 incident involving a gun that ended their marriage — the pair have since made amends and are willing to work together again.

Christina and Heather have also put their rocky past behind them. The Christina in the Country star told PEOPLE that the pair have “been close for a while now” during an exclusive interview in July.

“We communicate about the kids all the time. She's an amazing stepmom — the kids love her so much,” Christina added.

Christina also recently seemingly offered an olive branch to her second husband, British automotive expert and TV presenter Ant Anstead. She re-followed him on Instagram and liked a photo of their son, Hudson, 4.

She also responded to a fan who suggested Anstead replace Josh on The Flip Off, writing, “LOL that would be a genius 'ratings' idea just sayin.”
