Flip or Flop star Christina Anstead recently opened up about the "incredibly isolating year" 2020 has been and addressed a negative comment she had received about her parenting.
On Wednesday, Christina shared a mirror selfie in her bathroom to Instagram. Alongside her photo, she detailed all the lifestyle changes that have transpired in 2020 — from canceled activities to not being able to see her friends smile on set due to face coverings. "So many changes for so many people," she wrote. "So despite what you see on Instagram, most people are struggling."
This year has been incredibly isolating. Activities like church, travel, dinner, movies, sports- canceled. No longer seeing my friends smiling faces on set (all covered by masks) it all feels like shit. So many changes for so many people. So despite what you see on Instagram most people are struggling. When I get told “you must be an absent mother because you are not with your kids” - smh wake up people. I hardly post anymore ... and I def do not want to post my kids every freaking day to make it a contest of who’s a better parent 🤦🏼♀️ f that. This doesn’t mean I’m not with my kids - it means the opposite - I am with them- I’m present. So stop parent shaming people, stop choosing sides when there is no side to choose. My point being - when you see stuff on here take it all with a grain of salt. There is a whole lot of Filters and fake smiles. I’ve been guilty of faking it too. We are all struggling - some of us are just better at “masking” it.

Christina then referenced a hurtful comment she received. "When I get told 'you must be an absent mother because you are not with your kids' - smh wake up people. I hardly post anymore ... and I def do not want to post my kids every freaking day to make it a contest of who’s a better parent 🤦🏼♀️ f that."
Although she does not directly call out any one person, Christina hints that she may have received some unkind messages from fans that criticized her as a mom.
Since the 37-year-old separated from Ant Anstead in September, Ant has been much more active on Instagram, especially when it comes to sharing photos with their 1-year-old son, Hudson London Anstead. Meanwhile, Christina has dialed back on her posts. However, in this particular post, she tries to convey to fans that social media is not an accurate reflection of real life, nor does it warrant others to make comments about her as a mother.

As Christina noted, her lack of content revolving around her kids "doesn’t mean I’m not with my kids - it means the opposite - I am with them- I’m present," she wrote. "So stop parent shaming people, stop choosing sides when there is no side to choose."
She reminds fans that "when you see stuff on here [Instagram] take it all with a grain of salt" as "there is a whole lot of Filters and fake smiles."
Christina currently has three children. She shares her daughter, Taylor El Moussa, 10, and son, Brayden El Moussa, 5, with her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa. Meanwhile, she shares Hudson with Ant.
