Christie Brinkley Jets Off to Turks & Caicos to Celebrate 70th Birthday with Her Kids
"We made it here just in time for a golden sunset," the supermodel captioned a carousel of photos from the getaway
Christie Brinkley is celebrating a milestone birthday in style.
The supermodel, who turns 70 on Feb. 2, shared a carousel of photos from her celebratory trip on Instagram Wednesday.
“We made it here just in time for a golden sunset at lucky house!” she captioned the post. “And swipe to see what the kids did to our living room so I don’t forget I’m turning 70 on Friday! 😜isn’t that S W E E T!!!!”
Two of Brinkley’s children appear in the pictures: Jack Brinkley-Cook, 28 (from her marriage to Richard Taubman; Jack was later adopted by Peter Cook) and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, 25 (from her marriage to Cook). Brinkley is also mom to Alexa Ray Joel, 38 (from her marriage to Billy Joel).
“Lucky House” is Brinkley’s Turks & Caicos home, a three-bedroom beachfront estate in Parrot Cay.
In three of the photos, Brinkley lounges in a cabana, looking relaxed in jeans and a white tank top. And in the other two images, Sailor and Jack flank their mom as they pose under a festive “happy birthday” banner and dozens of balloons.

Brinkley told PEOPLE she’s approaching her 70th birthday “with a lot of reverence and emotion.”
“I think 70 is very similar to 50, in that it's a time when you look both back and forward,” she said, adding that the “steady march” to 70 has carried a certain weight.
“The big 7-0 is another one of those [ages] that’s up there in giant block numbers that loom over," she explained. "At 62, you start thinking, ‘Well, I'm almost 70.' It cast a shadow all over that whole decade down.”
Still, she focused on how to make the birthday “special.”
“Over the last five years, I thought, ‘I’m going to do a big blowout,’” she said. However, it was hard to find the time.
“Every day I've been so busy,” Brinkley said. “I haven’t really had a second to put a plan in place. And you know what? That’s absolutely fine with me.”
Brinkley also told PEOPLE that travel is hovering at the top of her bucket list.
“I still have to see India. I’ve never been to Tahiti or Thailand. I want to go to Bali also. I’ve got to do an eat, pray, love,” she said.
