23 Apr – Several days after he was sent to the emergency ward for a fever caused by tonsil inflammation, Taiwanese actor Chris Wu (Wu Kang-ren) is finally back to work again.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who appeared at the press conference for his new drama recently, admitted that he was originally advised to stay in the hospital for a week, but decided to get discharge on the same morning as the press conference so that he could make an appearance.
"I've had this condition ten years ago, but this time, it came all of a sudden. I didn't want to go to the hospital for medical treatment, so I decided to tough it out at home. But the fever persisted," he said.
It was only after experiencing swallowing and breathing difficulties that he decided to go and get the medical assistance that he needed.
"It was lucky that the problem was not that serious. I really do urge people to go and see the doctor if your tonsils are inflamed. If it becomes serious, then you have to undergo tracheotomy. It was a close call for me," he added.
Chris previously revealed his condition in a Facebook post in which he called himself a "weak chicken" for succumbing to a fever.
On the other hand, the new drama, "Ren Fu Yu Ai", which is based on the Hou Wen-yong novel of the same name, will also star Michelle Chen in her first drama in eight years.
