Chris Hemsworth’s Superhero-Sized Net Worth *Will* Make You Weep

Chris Hemsworth’s Superhero-Sized Net Worth *Will* Make You Weep

One of our absolute fave Hollywood Chris's is obviously Chris Hemsworth. I mean, between his iconic films, fairytale marriage to Elsa Pataky, and—let's be honest—general gorgeousness, it's no wonder his star power has only been going up over the years.

And thanks to that star power, the celeb has been raking in a ton of $$$ over the years. Like, some of his paychecks are legit upwards of seven (!!!) figures. In the mood to cry? Here's everything you need to know about Chris's bank account.

First Thing's First: He Makes a Ton of MCU $$$

Chris first broke into the entertainment industry after booking a few television roles in shows like Guinevere Jones and Marshall Law. Soon after that, he nabbed a part in the Australian soap opera Home and Away, in which he appeared in a whopping 171 episodes during the mid-2000s.

However, his first big break came when he took the role of George Kirk (aka James Kirk's father) in 2009's Star Trek. And though he only appeared in the film for legit five (!!!) minutes, it was enough to have people all 👀...

I mean, if this is the current vibe now:

Just IMAGINE back then, lol.

But despite his newfound fame in the early 2000s, nothing could compare to Chris's popularity after 2011—aka when his life took a seismic turn once he secured the role of Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). To say that Thor's eponymous debut film was an instant hit is a serious understatement considering the project pulled in over $449 million worldwide at the box office.

Oh, and in case you wanna know how all that success translated to literal buckets of $$$, some outlets have reported that the actor earned $150,000 for the first film. However, by the fourth installment, Thor: Love & Thunder, he reportedly raked in a truly eye-watering amount of $20 million.

But like all MCU characters, one thing they're gonna do is have a crossover moment lol. And this means that not only does Chris Thor appear in his own films, but he's *also* in a bunch of others—namely, the Avengers ensemble movies. Which ones, you ask? Ahem: The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, aaaaaand Avengers: Endgame.

*Le sigh* And to think that the role of Thor could have gone to *checks notes* Liam Hemsworth?!?! Yep, in a June 2022 episode of Wired's "Autocomplete Interview," Chris opened up about the story of him not getting a callback for the project at first, and recalled, "I think my audition sucked. I think that was the response I got."

The singer says their relationship came from "a place of love," but also from "a place of trauma."

Then, Liam apparently took a stab at the audition and got "very close" to landing the role...like, he was legit down to the "last five people" being considered.

"They were like, 'Look, he's great, but he's a bit young.' My manager then said, 'Well, he does have an older brother,' which was me," said Chris before adding, "I came back in, re-auditioned a few times and just had a different attitude. Maybe I had a little more sort of motivation that my little brother got a look in and I hadn't. I also had done a couple of films in between those two auditions, so I had a bit more experience and confidence in what I was going to do." I-con-ic!!!

And when he's not busy saving the world in Marvel movies and collecting $20 million checks, Liam is out here making other movies that are equally as popular (and profitable 🤑). Case in point? The iconic 2016 Ghostbusters remake, 2015 comedy Vacation, 2012 fantasy Snow White and the Huntsman, and the 2023 action film Extraction 2, which—along with the debut movie—is apparently the BIGGEST NETFLIX FILM FRANCHISE EVER. No, like, that's literally how Netflix advertised it lol:

Anyway! Just gonna leave you with this:

His Partnership Deals Are *Chef's Kiss*

As Chris's star power has gone like 📈📈📈, so have his opportunities to work with mega-successful brands. Most notably, he's become the face of companies like Hugo Boss and Tag Heuer, the latter of which reportedly came with a truly mind-blowing 7-figure salary. Brb, wiping the literal teardrops pouring down my eyes.

His Real Estate Portfolio Might Just Make You Cry

Similar to a buncha celebs who have a ton of money to spend on fancy homes, Chris, too, has dabbled in the world of real estate investments. Both he and his wife Elsa Pataky reportedly own a s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g property in Byron Bay, Australia that's apparently worth *drumroll, pls* close to $30 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Plus, back in 2013, the actor reportedly bought a home in Malibu for $4.8 million and sold it for $7 million (at $500,000 ABOVE asking) just three years later.

Live footage of me looking at my bank account after wondering when I'll be able to afford a home:

Oh, and btw in November 2021, Chris reportedly paid $15 million for a 1,300-acre property in northeast Tasmania that we can only imagine is as gorgeous (and expensive) as it sounds. Must 😭 be 😭 nice 😭😭😭.

He Legit Has an App

Unlike his blockbuster movies (which are truly meant to be watched in a movie theatre IRL), another one of Chris's most notable endeavors can actually only be accessed on a smaller, more portable screen. Enter: Centr, a comprehensive fitness and wellness app the actor launched in 2019.

"I believe we all have untapped potential. And we all need support to achieve our goals," the celeb said about the project in a press release at the time (via People). "Centr puts the world’s best in the palm of your hand, to help you develop a healthier body, stronger mind, and a happier life."

Fortunately for Chris, not only is the app a labor of love, but it has since made him a ton of money after he sold a portion of it to Jeff Bezos's (yep, that Jeff Bezos) brother Mark. P.S. At the time of the deal, the company was valued at a whopping $200 million. Whoah.

Oh, and a Production Company—Casual!

Yep, back in 2019, the actor launched Thematic Entertainment, a production company he created in partnership with Australian producers John Finemore and James Hoppe, per Deadline. Unclear how much Chris makes as a result of the gig, but we think it's safe to say it's definitely a pretty penny, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

So What's the total?!?!

That would be a truly 😱 $130 million buckaroonies. No words, just:
