Lizzo might have been cringing about a DM she sent to Avengers star Chris Evans after a few drinks, but it all worked out pretty well when she got a reply.

The Good As Hell singer shared with fans her embarrassment at having slid into Evans' DMs, warning them not to drunk message people they liked.

But actor Evans saw the funny side - even referencing his own mortifying moment on Instagram as he replied and followed her back.

Juice singer Lizzo took to TikTok to tell her fans: "Don’t drink and DM, kids….for legal porpoises this is a joke."

She showed a message she'd sent to the Captain America star of three emojis - wind blowing, a man jumping and a basketball - to signify she was "shooting her shot", aka telling him that she liked him.

In her TikTok post, she also lip synced to a sound by star of the social media platform Tatayanna Mitchell: "The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not gonna be able to marry him, and honestly it hurts me to the core because damn, papi, he a rare breed. No comparing. Like Chris..."

But Lizzo had no reason to feel embarrassed, because in a later post she circled a notification that Evans was following her on Instagram, and he also sent her a reply.

His message read: "No shame in a drunk DM…god knows I’ve done worse on this app."

It seems clear that Evans was talking about an Instagram mishap from last year when he was playing Heads Up! with his family, but accidentally ended his post with his camera roll visible.

The images on show included a man's genitals and one of his own face next to an explicit message, a post he removed immediately but that had already been screenshotted by fans.
