Chow Yun Fat accepted Asian Filmmaker Award in Busan
6 Oct - Chow Yun Fat recently took to the stage at the Busan International Film Festival to accept his Asian Filmmaker Award.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who arrived at the event alongside wife Jasmine, accepted the award from Korean actor, Song Kang-Ho during a special ceremony where he delivered his speech in Cantonese.
Said Chow, this year marks the 50th year of his career, having made his debut in 1973.
"Half a century is a long way, but looking back, it seems like yesterday. Thank you to [TVB] for giving me the opportunity to be an actor; thank you to Hong Kong movies for taking me to faraway places; thank you to my wife for taking care of me so that I can make movies without worries; thank you to the Busan Film Festival for giving me this award," he expressed.
"For this grand prize, I would like to thank my Korean fans for their support and love over the years. I wish everyone good health and all the best."
Chow then took out his mobile phone and took selfies with the audience.
It is noted that some of Chow's classic movies are also screening at the festival, including fan favourite, "A Better Tomorrow", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", and his latest film, "One More Chance".
The Busan International Film Festival, which was launched on 4 October, will be running until 13 October.
