Headed to a (socially distant) Halloween celebration this year? The hostess will be in awe when you show up with this skull made of chocolate. Better yet, it’s filled with candy to bring even more treats to the holiday. Think of it like a piñata that doesn’t require a string or blindfold!
The skull is made out of dark chocolate, so it’s a treat all on its own, especially with the pulled-sugar rose that tops the creation. It comes with a mallet so you can crack it open. Inside you’ll find caramel truffles wrapped in festive foil, so it’s like the treats never end.
The one-of-a-kind treat was created by celebrity pastry chef, Chris Ford, who is the owner of Butter Love & Hardwork. On the website, there are a variety of Halloween offerings, including a Ghost-O-Lantern, Candy Corn Skull, and Skull Heart. The Breakable Chocolate Skull, however, is available at Williams Sonoma. It comes with a mallet, and the package includes chilled gel packs. If stored at room temperature in a cool, dry place, it’ll stay good for up to 2 weeks.
The chocolate skull is certainly a splurge at $174.95, but it is a specialty treat that is also handcrafted. So if you’re feeling extra festive this year and looking to treat yourself, we think you just found one to add to your cart.
