Chin Kar Lok admits stuntmen had to find other work to live

2 Apr - Chin Kar Lok recently admitted that a lot of film workers in Hong Kong had to relegate themselves to other jobs due to the lack of work in the film industry.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who also chairs the Hong Kong Stuntman Association, stated that a lot of people have been affected due to the pandemic and that finding other jobs is just the most logical course of action.

"Some stuntmen have switched to driving taxicabs due to lack of work, but even that is getting harder nowadays since there is no passenger right now. Under this situation, all we can do is think harder and find other things to do," said Chin.

He also suggested for those who have martial arts background to make videos online and teach people how to strengthen their bodies.

"We just want everybody to have a job first," he added.

Asked if he has received any requests from members of his association who are facing financial issues, Chin said that there is none whatsoever for now, but that fellow actor and producer Eric Tsang has been donating supplies to them like face masks, rice and canned goods.

"We presented these packages to the elderly members and those who are lacking in opportunities. This was an encouragement. We did all that we could," he added.
