Children's Hospital in Washington Administers Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine

Children aged 5-11 with the highest risk of severe infection received their first doses of the newly released pediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington on Wednesday, November 3.

This footage filmed by the hospital shows health workers administering shots to the children, some of whom are seen sitting next to therapy dogs for emotional support.

“Just like we saw when the adult vaccine rolled out, not everyone will immediately have access
to a vaccine, but I am confident that every family who wants this vaccine for their child will be
able to get it within the next few weeks now that it’s authorized,” the hospital’s medical director of the COVID-19 vaccine program Claire Boogaard, MD, MPH, said in a press release. Credit: Children’s National Hospital via Storyful
