Children Enjoy Makeshift Music Session at Tent City in Adiyaman

Children living in a tent city in Adiyaman, Turkey, enjoyed a makeshift music session on Sunday, February 19, as relief efforts continued after a deadly earthquake struck the country and neighboring Syria on February 6.

Footage captured by Roza Sierra shows children using sticks and water bottles to create music in Adiyaman. According to news reports, survivors of the earthquake have been living in tent camps set up by the government across southern Turkey.

By February 19, state-run news outlet Anadolu Agency reported a death toll of 41,020 in Turkey, and the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Syria’s death toll had risen to 8,248, bringing the total death toll to over 49,000. Credit: Roza Sierra via Storyful
