Children Among Injured Following Zaporizhzhia Strike

At least five people were taken to hospital, including two children, following a strike in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, late on Sunday, January 15, local emergency services said.

Five people were injured by glass fragments, reported by Suspilne to have hit the Voznesenivskyi district of Zaporizhzhia.

A nine-year-old and a 15-year-old were among those hospitalized, SES Zaporizhzhia said.

Anatolii Kurtiev, the acting mayor of Zaporizhzhia, blamed Russia for the strike.

Ivan Fedorov, the Ukrainian mayor of Melitopol, on Sunday accused Russia of holding the populations of occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Luhansk, and Donetsk “hostage” by not allowing travel in and out.
