Cher's Son Elijah Blue Allman's Divorce Dismissal Request Denied amid Ongoing Conservatorship Hearing
Elijah Blue Allman originally filed for divorce from his estranged wife Marieangela King in 2021 after eight years of marriage
Elijah Blue Allman’s request to dismiss his divorce from wife Marieangela King has been denied.
Several days after Cher’s son, 47, filed for a divorce dismissal in Los Angeles County on Jan. 5, a judge denied his request on Jan. 11, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Per the filing, the request was denied due to a temporary support stipulation that remains in place.
Allman — who first filed divorce from King in 2021 after eight years of marriage — had requested a dismissal "without prejudice," according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.
He made the filing just days before he was expected to appear in court for a conservatorship hearing brought by his mother, 77.
In court documents that surfaced in September of last year, King accused the pop icon of hiring four men to kidnap her estranged husband in late 2022.
King — who is known professionally as Queenie — alleged later in October in papers obtained by PEOPLE that she had not seen Allman since April, shortly after they agreed to “work on [their] marriage” amid their divorce. The musician alleged that Cher had continued to “interfere” with her son’s “health management as well as his location and accessibility" during that time.
In a declaration, she claimed that after agreeing on April 21 to keep their divorce proceedings in a “six-month stay in discovery and litigation,” Allman — who was living with her at the time — “disappeared” and she had “not seen him in person since the end of April.”
Regarding the allegations, Cher told PEOPLE in an October interview “that rumor is not true” and declined to comment further.
She did, however, confirm that the private family matter was related to her son’s addiction issues, which he has spoken openly about over the years.

Allman’s recent request for a divorce dismissal was made several days after his mother filed to become the sole conservator of his estate, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE, as she claimed that he is "substantially unable to manage his financial resources."
The document stated that although Allman is due to receive assets from the trust before the end of the year, a conservator is "urgently needed ... to protect Elijah’s property from loss or injury" because he is "currently unable to manage his assets due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues." The document also stated that his estranged wife, Marieangela King, is not fit to be his conservator because "their tumultuous relationship has been marked by a cycle of drug addiction and mental health crises."
Allman and King appeared in court together, while Cher’s lawyers appeared in her place, on the first date of the conservatorship hearing on Jan. 5.

At the hearing, a judge denied an ex parte motion that the Grammy winner had filed a day prior, requesting an immediate temporary conservatorship. The judge argued that Allman and his counsel did not have enough time to review all of the documents.
The morning before their court appearance, Allman also filed an objection against his mother's petition to appoint a temporary conservator.
Per the documents obtained by PEOPLE, he claimed “no reason exists for the appointment of a conservator” because “there is simply no emergency that requires it.”
He also noted that he was receiving treatment for addiction and stated, “I am reconciling with my wife so that we can work on our relationship now that I have found a path to sobriety.”
The conservatorship hearing will continue with another court date on Jan. 29.
