Watch: Trailer for Tom Holland drama Cherry
Tom Holland is a very long way from Peter Parker in the first trailer for Cherry — his new collaboration with Avengers: Endgame duo the Russo Brothers.
The 24-year-old Brit plays a former combat medic suffering from PTSD who begins robbing banks in order to feed his drug addiction.

Ciara Bravo stars as the character’s girlfriend, with Jack Reynor, Forrest Goodluck and Michael Gandolfini also in the cast.
It’s based on a 2018 novel by Nico Walker, who is currently serving a prison sentence for bank robbery and wrote the book on a typewriter in his cell.
The trailer features Holland’s character talking his way through the process of bank robberies, communicating threats to cashiers via ominous writing on dollar bills.
It also traces the title character’s increasingly loose grasp of reality and the toll his addiction is taking on him.
The film is the latest project from the Russos’ production company AGBO, which has previously brought about Netflix mega-hit Extraction and the Chadwick Boseman thriller 21 Bridges.
Cherry marks the latest step in a transition to adult roles for the Spider-Man actor, who also took on darker material for the 2020 thriller The Devil All the Time.
It’s also the first directorial outing for the Russos since they helmed the highest-grossing movie of all time, so it’s not just Holland with something to prove about what they can achieve without a bit of spandex in sight.
Away from his darker side, Holland is currently hard at work on his latest MCU effort — the as-yet-untitled third Spider-Man solo movie.
Benedict Cumberbatch is already confirmed to appear as Doctor Strange and there are persistent rumours of old faces from previous Spider-Man universes.
This suggests Peter might be accessing the multiverse for real this time in the wake of the Jake Gyllenhaal fake-out in 2019’s Far From Home.
Cherry will be released worldwide via Apple TV+ on 12 March, while Spider-Man 3 is set for December.
