Chelsea aren’t stopping at the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk with the Blues making an offer for PSV Eindhoven forward Noni Madueke, according to reports.

The Blues have already made five new signings in the January transfer window with Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, David Datro Fofana and Joao Felix.

Todd Boehly has spent almost £400m in the last two transfer windows since buying the club at the beginning of last year with the Chelsea owner facing criticism for his scattergun approach.

And, after beating Arsenal to Mudryk, it looks like Boehly will continue spending this month with Algemeen Dagblad claiming that Chelsea have made an offer for Madueke.

The Dutch newspaper claims that the Blues have submitted their ‘first bid’ to PSV for the 20-year-old, who has scored one goal in eight matches for the Eredivisie side.

Algemeen Dagblad journalists Sjoerd Mossou and Johan Inan have been discussing his potential departure on the publications podcast with Inan claiming that PSV can forget winning the title if the forward leaves.

“If PSV sells Madueke, then you actually say: look at it with the national title. We’re not participating this year,” Inan said.

But Mossou argued for the transfer, he added: “But if you can get that much money for a player who often loses half the season due to an injury. Then I understand that you are considering it.

Chelsea decided to meet Shakhtar Donetsk’s €100m demands for Mudryk, something which Arsenal weren’t prepared to do, while they have reportedly agreed to pay the Ukraine international double the amount the Gunners were willing to offer in wages.

And now Roma boss Jose Mourinho had a little dig at his former club Chelsea while talking about his own transfer plans with reporters.

Speaking after using Marash Kumbulla as cover for Roger Ibanez, who was suspended for Roma’s 2-0 victory over Fiorentina, Mourinho said: “In order to get that quality, we must get the young players to grow. Tahirovic has this quality.

“We need a defender who can pass the ball better out of defence and Kumbulla is probably the one who does it best, but we need Ibanez because of his pace and determination.

“We need to find a solution, we can’t just buy Mudryk for €100m!”

Mourinho added: “I am not expecting anyone to arrive. The director [Tiago Pinto] was very honest and direct, he said things in an interview that a coach usually doesn’t like to hear.

“Coaches always want to hear we have lots of money, can buy option a, b, c, d, build an incredible team. That is the dream.

“I worked at clubs with those sorts of practically limitless funds. There are more and more clubs nowadays who fit that profile, but it’s not our profile. We work, we give our all, we work with the characteristics we’ve got.”
