Russia is trying to capture Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Oblast using the same tactics as during the Avdiivka campaign, according to British Defense Ministry report published on Twitter on April 21.

The Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Troops has reported that the area is subjected to 20-30 aircraft bombs daily. The British Ministry of Defense specifies that these bombings involve Su-25 aircraft operating near the contact line and Su-34 aircraft using glide bombs from a distance.

"This is a coordinated aerial bombardment, and tactics are borrowed from in Avdiivka campaign," the British intelligence noted.

The intelligence report also highlighted the strategic positioning of Chasiv Yar, noting its advantageous high ground that simplifies its defense. Despite this, Russian ground forces are making slow but steady progress.

Ukrainian Armed forces withdrew from Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast, after four months of intense fighting on Feb. 17.
