Champions League quarter-final draw: Chelsea, Man City get hardest possible opponents as mouth-watering ties set
Chelsea and Manchester City will have to be at their very best to reach the Champions League final after being given incredibly hard ties in the quarters and semis.
Chelsea will face reigning champions Real Madrid in the last eight following Los Blancos’ 6-2 demolition of Liverpool over two legs in the previous round. City, meanwhile, will have to overcome German titans Bayern Munich to get to the semi-finals.
Runaway Serie A leaders Napoli will come up against Italian rivals AC Milan in the quarter-finals, which looks set to be a brilliant clash. The other quarter-final will be contested by Inter Milan and Benfica.
Even if Chelsea and City progress to the last four, it will be far from easy for them to get to the final. Chelsea or Real will play the winners of City or Bayern in the semis. Milan or Napoli will play the winners of Inter or Benfica too.
