NICK BROMBERG: Welcome to "Yahoo Sports Daily." It is Wednesday, October 27th, 2021. And I am Nick Bromberg, your guide to betting the week nine college football slate. Let's get started.

[REFEREE WHISTLING]

We're kicking off the day with Fox's biggest game, noon Eastern, number six Michigan, number eight Michigan State. This game in East Lansing. 40% of bets, 50% of money on Michigan giving 4 and 1/2 points. The total here is 52. Michigan is 6 and 1 against the spread so far this season. Michigan State is undefeated against the spread. Spartans are 5-0-2.

Both teams 3 and 4 against the total. I think this game has some points. Michigan scares me a little bit giving those 4 and 1/2 points on the road. I'm going with over 52.

At the same time over on ESPN, number nine Iowa travels to Madison to take on a Wisconsin team that beat Purdue last week. Wisconsin, a 3 and 1/2 point favorite. This total is, at the moment, the lowest of the 2021 college football season, 36 and 1/2 points. 75% of the money, 65% of the bets on Iowa. Hawkeyes are 5 and 2 against the spread but have gone over just twice so far in 2021. Wisconsin, 3 and 4 against the spread and 3 and 4 against the total.

I am taking Iowa plus 3 and 1/2. A top-10 team getting points on the road, I'll take it. I advise you to stay away from this total. 9 to 6 would not surprise me or an over wouldn't surprise me as well.

The big SEC on CBS game, 3:30 Eastern time in Jacksonville, number one Georgia versus Florida. This game has kind of lost some of its luster with Florida's loss to LSU. Bulldogs favored by 14. Total here is 51. Bettors really like Georgia. 80% of the bets, 70% of the money on the Dogs. Georgia's 5 and 2 against the spread, 3 and 4 against the total.

Florida, meanwhile, is 3 and 4 against both the spread and the total. I like Georgia to cover the 14 points. I know Kentucky got the backdoor cover in Athens a couple of weeks ago. I think Georgia has enough to win by more than two touchdowns here.

ESPN, seven o'clock Eastern, number 10 Ole Miss at number 18 Auburn. The Auburn Tigers favored by 2 points in this. Is this some homefield advantage going on here or what? Over/under 66. Bets and the money split pretty evenly. This is a good line so far. Ole Miss, 4-2-1 against the spread, just 3 and 4 against the total. Auburn both 4 and 3 against the spread and the total.

You know how I've been all season long. I'm hammering the under 66. Auburn's got a defense. I don't necessarily know if they can keep up with Ole Miss in a shootout. I am going under 66.

And, finally, number 20 Penn State at number five Ohio State, 7:30 Eastern on ABC. Another game that looked really tantalizing entering week eight, and then Penn State lost that nine-overtime kerfuffle to Illinois. Ohio State favored by 18 and 1/2 points. The total here is 60. Penn State, 4 and 3 against the spread, has gone over just twice so far in 2021. Ohio State, 4-2-1 against the spread. Buckeyes have gone over five times so far in 2021. 75% of the bets, 85% of the money on Ohio State.

I think this is a total play here, too, under 60. I don't think the Penn State offense with a recovering Sean Clifford can keep up with Ohio State. If Ohio State wins this game comfortably, I still think it stays under 60.

So to recap, over 52 in Michigan-Michigan State. Iowa getting 3 and 1/2 points at Wisconsin. Georgia minus 14 versus Florida. Under 66 in Ole Miss's trip to Auburn. And under 60 in Penn State at Ohio State. My bonus bet for the weekend, get it while you can, Purdue is getting 7 and 1/2 points at Nebraska. As my coworker, Sam Cooper, found on Tuesday, Nebraska under Scott Frost 0 and 5 against the spread coming off of a bye week.
