A woman in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, took part in the popular century egg challenge on TikTok, eating the titular Chinese delicacy.
The hashtag #centuryeggchallenge has garnered over 1.8 million views on TikTok. Despite its name and the caption on Jacobs’ video, the eggs aren’t 100 years old, just preserved.
Latoya Jacobs filmed herself eating the century egg and posted the video to her TikTok account on June 24. She took on the century egg challenge thanks to a suggestion from one of her subscribers. Unlike some other participants, Jacobs enjoyed the dish, licking her fingers in the video and saying, “It really is bussin bussin.”
“So everyone was telling me, don’t do it, I’m gonna be sick, I’m gonna be in the hospital. I ate it anyways and it wasn’t that bad. It was a little bit more gooey than I expected, but not horrible,” Jacobs said. Credit: Latoya Jacobs via Storyful
