Central Croatia hit by 5.2 strength earthquake

The quake hit at 0528 GMT and was also felt in the capital. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The quake was followed by an aftershock registering 4.9 magnitude at 0649 GMT, according to the EMSC data.

Kristina Ikic Banicek, mayor of Sisak city, located about a 40-minute drive from the epicentre said emergency services had received more than a hundred phone calls from residents after the quake.

In March, an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 hit Zagreb causing one death and injuring 27 people.
