Sure, 2025 has only just begun, but you'd never know it based on the number of celebrity breakups that have already been announced. That said, it's going to be preeeeetty tough to beat the number of A-listers who split last year. 2024 saw the end of beloved celeb couples such as Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover (say it isn't so!), Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum (truly tragic), and Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (for now, at least)—and that's just to name a few. So yeah, expect this list to grow bigger and messier as the months go on.

January: Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell
Matt announced their split in a prayer on Instagram, writing "Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔"
January: Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson
Jessica announced the news in a statement to Us Weekly, saying "Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
January: Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow costars Brandon and Courtney filed for divorce, according to documents obtained by TMZ. The two later issued a joint statement on Instagram, writing, "After 21 years together and 17 years of marriage, we have decided to begin a new journey, and enter this next chapter of life as friends and co-parents. We are now and forever rooting for each other as we move through this wild adventure called life.”
January: Jessica Alba and Cash Warren
TMZ reported that Jessica and Cash were seen without their wedding rings during recent outings, and sources with "direct knowledge" told the outlet that "the couple recently separated, and they're moving forward with divorce." The actress and producer were married for 16 years and share three children together.
January: Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler
After months of breakup rumors, TMZ finally confirmed that Kaia and Austin had split after just about three years of dating. According to the outlet, the two broke up "around the end of 2024" and the relationship "simply ran its course."

January: Naomi Osaka and Cordae
Naomi took to her Instagram Stories to announce that she and Cordae had split after five years together, noting that there's "no bad blood" between herself and the rapper, who share a daughter. "He's a great person and an awesome dad," the tennis star wrote in a statement. "Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together."
