Cecily Strong, 40, reveals she’s ‘very happily pregnant’ via IVF

Cecily Strong revealed she is pregnant with a personal message ahead of Tuesday’s general election.

Wearing a “pregnant, pro-choice and proud” shirt, the “Saturday Night Live” alum shared in an Instagram post that she is “very happily pregnant from IVF at 40” and “really hopeful” to meet her “little miss thing” next spring.

In her lengthy caption, Strong said that it felt “insane and scary to disclose all of this” but knew the timing was right considering her journey with pregnancy included an abortion in her early 20s and seeking out in vitro fertilization later in life.

“I’ve been in lots of waiting rooms with other women throughout my life,” she wrote in the Friday post. “Feeling terrified and lonely all those years ago at a clinic in California, to feeling frustrated and anxious in fertility offices in New York the past couple of years, to giddily talking everyone’s ear off and wishing everyone around me good luck like I was Forrest Gump the day of my transfer.”

Following Texas’ 2021 six-week abortion ban, Strong debuted a new character for the show’s Weekend Update segment: “Goober, the Clown Who Had An Abortion When She Was 23.”

The Emmy Award nominee later revealed the sketch was based on her real-life experience.

On Instagram, she continued: “I’ve had a friend sit with me and give me the biggest hug after my abortion at 23, only for me to sit with her and give her the biggest hug 17 years later after a difficult pregnancy loss. I had family and strangers reach out after Goober and tell me of their own experiences — some of whom had never shared with anyone before.”

Strong, who starred on "SNL" for 11 seasons before leaving in 2022, announced in March that was engaged to her longtime lover, who is only known publicly as Jack.

Strong did not share how far along she is with her presidency. This will be the couple’s first child.
