Ghosts this season is averaging 8.7 million total viewers and a 0.8 demo rating (with Live+7 playback), ranking No. 2 in audience among all TV comedies (trailing only lead-in Young Sheldon) and tying Sheldon for the top spot in the demo. Compared to its sophomore averages (9.1 mil/0.9), the hitcom is down just a tick.

Fire Country Season 2 is thus far averaging 7.6 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating, also down just a bit from its previous averages (8.4 mil/0.8). Among all broadcast dramas airing this TV season, it ranks No. 2 in the demo (trailing only Tracker‘s Super Bowl-inflated tally).

The Fire Country pickup comes as CBS readies the potential spinoff Sheriff Country, starring Gotham and Homeland vet Morena Baccarin.

Ghosts and Fire Country are proven viewer favorites on both broadcast and streaming thanks to exceptional storytelling, talented actors and an ever-growing fan base,” said CBS president Amy Reisenbach in a statement. “We are elated to keep the momentum going and bring them back to CBS next season.”

Last week, CBS also issued an early renewal to the new Justin Hartley drama Tracker.
