Category 5 Cyclone Yasa Brings Gale Force Winds and Driving Rain to Fiji

Fiji was hit by gale-force winds and driving rain as Tropical Cyclone Yasa barreled toward the Pacific nation as a Category 5 storm on December 17.

By Thursday, the government declared a 30-day State of Natural Disaster ahead of the storm’s expected landfall in the province of Bua at around 8 pm.
