Catcher Removes Python Found on Fourth-Floor Stairwell

A catcher was called upon to remove a snake found hanging out in a stairwell in an apartment building in Maroochydore, Queensland, recently shared video shows.

Footage posted by Stuart McKenzie of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 shows him removing the unwanted visitor, a carpet python, from stairwell on the fourth floor of the apartment building.

“The small snake was just sleeping in the middle of the stairwell, certainly not the best place to be, so we relocated it to some nearby bushland,” McKenzie said. Credit: Stuart McKenzie via Storyful

- Yeah. Just down here, along the apartment strip, in Maroochydore, near the surf club, and they've actually got a snake in one of the [INAUDIBLE] corporate apartments. We're not sure. I think it's up a couple of flights of stairs. So it could be a tree snake or a python, but could be surprised by something else, as we all know that venomous snakes can climb. So a bit of a mystery this one, but we'll see what happens, and hopefully, they keep an eye on it.

[INAUDIBLE] got to the top. He was only 1, 2, 3 steps short of the top.

- That's crazy.

- That's cool, eh? You know, I'm puffed. Hey, little fella. What are you doing up here? What are you doing?

You need to be outside in the bush. Come on. Lucky someone didn't stand on you. In you go. How about that, eh?

Got this cute, little python. It's still half asleep. It made it up four or five floors in a unit complex in Maroochydore a long way from bush. But we found a little patch nearby and going to release him here. Way better spot.
