Casualty spoilers follow.

Casualty is back on our screens for the time being, but with the coronavirus pandemic still ongoing, many soaps and TV series are having to come up with solutions that keep the cast and crew safe and socially-distant.

Casualty's Amanda Mealing – who plays clinical lead Connie Beauchamp – has shared her thoughts on the situation, telling TV Times that the BBC hospital drama is hoping to "find a way" to kick start production.

"We're trying to find solutions," Amanda explained. "We'll never leave the audience without something. Because Casualty is set in an ED, we're in a better place than many."

The actress revealed that the show's current concerns are with how to keep the crew protected, as the actors can "visibly get away with wearing PPE", what with the show taking place in a hospital and all.

"We need protection for the rest of the crew," Amanda added. "We'll find a way!"

With Casualty remaining on air for the time being, fans can look forward to yet another action-packed episode this weekend, when several members of the team are caught up in a frightening hostage situation.

Amid all the drama, blood proves to be thicker than water for Charlie, Dylan risks his life for Faith, and Will makes a discovery about Fenisha. You can find out the seven biggest moments to watch out for here.

Casualty continues Saturday, May 30 at 8.40pm on BBC One.
