Cars Stranded in Floods After Thunderstorms Hit St Louis Metro Area

Slow-moving thunderstorms packing heavy rain flooded areas of St Louis, Missouri on Wednesday, August 12, local media reported.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flash-flood warning for the metropolitan area until 4.15 pm.

This video from meteorologist Matt Beitscher shows high waters and two stranded vehicles along Lindell Avenue at Vandeventer on Wednesday morning. The NWS advised residents to avoid walking or driving through floodwaters and to move to higher ground. Credit: Matt Beitscher via Storyful
