Cars Left Stranded on Snow-Covered Roads in Virginia Following Winter Storm

Cars were left stranded and power outages affected thousands of homes in Virginia on Tuesday, January 4, after a winter storm dropped over a foot of snow in some parts of the state.

Monday’s winter storm brought traffic on Interstate 95 to a standstill, with some motorists stranded for hours overnight into Tuesday after the snow-covered roadway was blocked by “disabled vehicles and downed trees” near Fredericksburg, Virginia’s Department of Transportation said. By Tuesday evening, all vehicles had been removed, they said.
