Carol Vorderman might be 60 but says she feels like a 20-year-old – and she's determined to stay young by biohacking her health.

The former Countdown star spoke to The Mirror ahead of her hosting gig at the Pride of Britain Awards and revealed that her health was in tip-top condition.

She said: "I know I’m 60 – I know that because my birth certificate says so. But I’ve got the greatest sense of freedom that I’ve ever had. In my head I feel like I’m 20!”

Vorderman admitted to being "not that bothered about being on the telly any more" and said that her main focus now was her health, which she'd worked hard to improve after feeling bloated from lockdown.

The TV presenter, who has also trained to fly a plane, said that her 50s had been about the menopause but her 60s were about carrying on feeling great for as long as she could.

She said: “My thing is biohacking. I’m experimenting with all sorts of things and hoping to do a documentary about it, but I’m at the next stage of life. I want to push the boundaries of ageing healthily.”

Vorderman also said that she had told her trainer she wanted to be able to do a full press-up, a handstand and the splits by the end of the year.

During lockdown, Vorderman has been keeping fans entertained with Instagram snaps of herself in workout gear and stunning photos of her second home in West Wales, a clifftop house that overlooks the beach.

She bought the house 18 months ago and was unable to visit for a long time until restrictions eased, but has been getting reacquainted with the area that her mum came from.
