Carmaney Wong unsure of position as current Miss Hong Kong

10 Apr – Reigning Miss Hong Kong Carmaney Wong recently stated that she is unsure whether or not she will be holding her title for another year, following announcement that the Miss Hong Kong 2020 pageant has been suspended.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the beauty queen, who succeeded Hera Chan as Miss Hong Kong last year, stated that TVB has not said anything to her about her current position.

"I just feel saddened that both Miss Hong Kong and Miss Chinese International had to be cancelled because of the pandemic. But of course, the most important thing right now is to fight the pandemic together," she said.

Carmaney revealed that even her parents are currently staying in Shenzhen and declined to return to Hong Kong in order to avoid having to quarantine themselves for 14 days.

"I haven't seen them since the Lunar New Year," she said.

As for first runner-up Fei Wong, the 24-year-old echoed similar sentiment to Carmaney, saying that everybody should be focusing on taking care of their health.

"I will support the company's decision. There is always next year, so the girls who were hoping to compete this year could always try again," she added.
