Car in Ditch as Winter Storm Brings Slick Road Conditions to Oklahoma

A winter storm brought snow and ice to much of Oklahoma on Friday, January 1, knocking out power to thousands of residents and creating dangerous driving conditions.

OG&E, the state’s largest electric utility, reported 19,000 of its customers were without power on Friday due to “overnight freezing rain, sleet, ice and high winds,” and warned that it expected more outages as high winds persisted.
