Candace Cameron Bure Shares Photo from Second Date with Husband Valeri: ‘6 Months After Our First’

Candace Cameron Bure is reflecting on her early days with husband Valeri Bure.

The Full House star, 48, posted a throwback photo of herself and Valeri on their second date on Tuesday, May 28, as she answered how the pair met during a Q&A session with fans.

“This picture was our 2nd date — six months after our first, taken in Fredericton, New Brunswick,” she explained in the caption on her Instagram Stories. “We talked on the phone in between that time because we lived in different states.”

Candace then shared that she met her former professional hockey player husband “at a charity game in L.A.” and that her Full House costar Dave Coulier introduced them.

In the photo, a 22-year-old Candace was seen embracing Valeri as they posed together inside what appeared to be a hockey changing room. The new couple wore baggy sweaters as Candace sported darker blonde hair and Valeri grown-out light blonde locks.

For their 22nd anniversary in 2018, Candace shared the same throwback photo on Instagram as she wrote, "I love you even more today than I did on our wedding day. Simply because I KNOW you, 24 years in the making."

The actress revealed the secret to her marriage with Valeri in May 2021. "The longer you're married it's so easy to take each other for granted. You know each other so well that you forget, so you have to keep it spicy," Candace said on Daily Blast Live. "I love that. My husband and I do. That's one of the reasons we'll be celebrating 25 years of marriage."

Candace and Valeri have been married since 1996. The pair met in 1994, three years after Valeri moved from his home country of Russia. They share three children: daughter Natasha, 25, and sons Lev, 24, and Maksim, 22.

In February, Candace spoke to PEOPLE about attending her son Lev’s “amazing” wedding with Valeri and their family the month prior.

"Oh goodness, the whole thing was amazing," the mom of three said. “I'm mother of the groom, so it was like a highlight of my entire life. It was fantastic, but I would just say the actual ceremony was so beautiful.”

“They're so in love," Candace added of her son and new daughter-in-law Elliott Dunham.
