Thousands of people had been evacuated from campsites south of Bordeaux, France, on July 13 as two forest fires burned through more than 1,700 hectares in the area, officials said.
Regional authorities in Nouvelle-Aquitane said a fire near Landiras had burnt more than 1,000 hectares while another near La Teste-de-Buch had burned 700 hectares.
At least 6,000 people were evacuated from campsites, officials in La Teste-de-Buch said.
