AMPANG, Aug 11 — Perikatan Nasional president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin tonight accused the coalitions in the national unity government of failing to help residents in Selangor, during his coalition’s final campaign event for the state election tomorrow.

He said that there have been no improvements even though the coalitions have been the federal government for eight months.

"There is not a single government statement that relieves the people of Selangor," he said at the event here.

"I want to state that it's not a feeling of anxiety; it's my fear. It's been eight months and the actions of the unity government have not made me happy, relieved, or content," he said.

The former prime minister also said that the absence of financial aid to support the public was particularly concerning to him.

He expressed the desire for tangible and impactful actions, as opposed to what he deemed as nonsensical rhetoric and empty promises.

"The government is hopeless, useless and full of lies. This is what we face today when a government is formed, the people expect something to happen to improve our lives.

"If compared to when I governed the country, effective actions were successfully taken to save the people," he said.

Meanwhile, Selangor PN Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has urged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to refrain from using threatening voters in Selangor.

He was referring to Anwar's statement in which he said people of Selangor must vote for his party because it is in line with the federal government.

"Anwar Ibrahim threatened the people of Selangor once again, the culture of intimidation is strong in Putrajaya that one cannot criticise," he said.

He also said that Selangor residents are smart and will reject Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional on Saturday.

Azmin who is contesting the Hulu Kelang seat added that if given the opportunity to re-administer Selangor, he would defend the fate of the people of Selangor.

"I admit that I myself did not escape from making any mistakes so I always reflect on myself after facing the defeat of the election at that time.

"So, I hope that all the people of Selangor will vote for me in the state election this time," he said.
