Cameron Diaz has opened up about walking away from her movie career.
The actress starred in a number of hit films including Charlie's Angels, There's Something About Mary, My Sister's Keeper, What Happens in Vegas, My Best Friend's Wedding and The Mask, before confirming her retirement from acting in 2018.
Speaking to Gwyneth Paltrow for In Goop Health: The Sessions, Cameron explained why she made the decision.
Describing the feeling as "like peace", she said that acting left her with "no time for anything else" and she wanted to "take responsibility of [her] own life".

"It's a strange thing to say, I know a lot of people won't understand it – I know you understand it – but it was so intense to work at that level and be that public and put yourself out there," she said.
"There's a lot of energy coming at you at all times when you're really visible as an actor and doing press and putting yourself out there."
She added: "I stopped and really looked at my life.
"When you're making a movie... they own you. You're there for 12 hours a day for months on end, you have no time for anything else.
"I realised I handed off parts of my life to all these other people. I had to basically take it back and take responsibility for my own life."
In January, Cameron announced she had welcomed a baby daughter with her husband Benji Madden.
