Laverock was hospitalized in Winnipeg after suffering a “medical emergency” on May 11. She was later transferred to a Vancouver hospital, where her parents said she was “showing signs of improvement” but noted that her overall recovery could take “upwards of a month or more.”

In a later update, Laverock’s parents announced that the 19-year-old had been receiving “intensive treatment for the past two weeks” when she was “escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories” on May 26.

“She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” they wrote. “We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”

In the wake of the news, several of Laverock’s When Calls the Heart costars have shared the link to her GoFundMe — which has received over $32,000 CAD in donations at this time — on social media as well as their best wishes for her ongoing recovery.

“I love this family, my heart is broken,” Johannah Newmarch, who stars as Laverock’s mom on the Hallmark Channel series, posted on X (formerly Twitter). “A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thornton, added on Instagram, “I just donated. If you have the means to do so, I hope you will too. Link in bio.”
