Calistoga Home Lost Despite Firefighters' Battle to Contain Growing Glass Fire

Firefighters worked to contain the growing Glass Fire as it raged in Calistoga, California, and across Sonoma and Napa counties overnight from September 29 into September 30, reports said.

On Tuesday evening the Glass Fire spanned 42,560 acres and was 0 percent contained. By Wednesday morning, the fire had grown to 48,440 acres and was 2 percent contained, Cal Fire reported.

Local reports said thousands of people were displaced and at least 80 homes had been destroyed in Napa and Sonoma counties since the start of the fire on September 27.
