California community turns watery ghost town after flood
STORY: Drone footage above Monterey County in central California show an entire community inundated by brown waters after a levee on the Pajaro River failed.
The flooding is the latest disaster stemming from a string of winter storms to strike California.
The state has seen repeated atmospheric river storm systems this year. An atmospheric river is a high-altitude current of dense, subtropical moisture streaming into the West Coast from the warm Pacific waters around Hawaii.
The state prepares for another bout of rain, wind and snow.
