Cade Cunningham reportedly signs shoe deal with Nike two days before NBA draft

The presumptive No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft isn't waiting until Thursday to get paid. Cade Cunningham reportedly signed a shoe deal with Nike on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal is reportedly the highest-earning shoe deal among players in Cunningham's draft class.

Cunningham called Nike, "The perfect match for me," according to Wojnarowski.

At least one other projected draft pick signed a shoe deal this offseason. Jalen Green — who could go to the Houston Rockets with the No. 2 overall pick — signed a shoe deal with Adidas in April.

It's assumed Cunningham, 19, will be selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft Thursday. In the lead up to the draft, Cunningham has worked out with just one team, the Detroit Pistons, who hold the top pick in the draft. Oddsmakers at BetMGM believe Cunningham is a heavy favorite to be selected with that pick.

Cunningham dominated in his one season with Oklahoma State, averaging 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists as a freshman. That performance helped Oklahoma State go 20-8 during the regular season, earning the team a No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Oklahoma State advanced past Liberty in the first round, but fell to Oregon State in the second round of the tournament.
